This year, Stephen Strasburg was the first draft pick, by the Washington Nationals. He got paid $15.1 million over 3 years and I saw him play in Cleveland on his second start! Cleveland lost, as always!
I was watching the 2010 Home Run Derby and it said that if you have a 60 mph pitch and a 60 mph swing, the ball will travel 400 feet. If you increase the PITCH speed by 5, the ball will go 5 feet further. If you increase the BAT speed by 5, the ball will go 25 feet further. Bat speed is 5x more important than pitch speed. That means that I should gain some bat speed because I’m not necessarilly a “power” hitter. Let’s just that I’m an average hitter because I batted .404 this season!
